National Induction Package
The National Induction Package serves as a university governor resource and as a model for an Induction Handbook for a university’s governing body. The Package has been compiled from induction materials supplied by universities, education departments and other providers. The National
Institute for Governance reviewed these materials for best practice against three criteria: readability, reliability and relevance.
The UGPD virtual National Induction Pack is available free to UGPD members.
Hardcopies in an easily modified folder format are available for purchase from UGPD.
University governors' reflections on the National Governance Protocols
This report provides a summary of the mid-2006 National Institute for Governance survey of university governors.
University governors' professional development needs
The UGPD Program designed its courses based on an initial survey of Australian university governing bodies on their training practices and needs. This development report will be transformed soon into a public report available here.
University use of UGPD workshops
A central component of the UGPD Program mission and activity is the delivery of those courses designed specifically for university governing bodies. These courses have engaged governors in an active pedagogy in the“grey zone” of governance, to share the knowledge and skills across the whole governing body to enhance the capacity of the governing body as a team.
Since inception the National Institute of Governance has delivered these courses with success, raising the collective understanding of governors and delivering practical outcomes for future improvement of an institution's governance practices. but don't take our word for it:
